Product Description
The SCS-VP9-GR (Solar Charging Sight) is designed for the H&K VP9 optics ready handguns. It is designed to attach directly to the slide without an adapter plate and uses our innovative solar charging system with multi-directional light sensors to automatically adjust brightness in dynamic situations.
The SCS can potentially operate indefinitely using an internal, rechargeable 20,000-hour battery meaning under even moderate exposure to bright light, you will never need to change batteries again. The SCS also includes an intensity override function which locks the optic into a high brightness mode for 30 minutes and a low power indicator which warns of low battery days before charging is needed.

I purchased this optic for my HK VP9L OR because of the ability to direct mount and co-witness with the factory standard height sights. There have been some fitment issues reported where there is a gap below the optic and the slide. I thought I had this issue to a small degree but I was able to position the optic so that the gap disappeared. There are also reports of difficulty with the mounting screws. I found that I had to align the holes in the optic perfectly with the ones in the slide. I also put a dab of blue Loctite on each screw before torquing them to 15 inch-lbs per Holosun instructions. Tighten one screw slightly and then switch to the other screw to tighten a similar amount. Alternate tightening a slight amount until both screws are down worked the best for me. I really like this optic!
